BIO
Tamsin is a multi-disciplinary artist and educator whose work encompasses painting, drawing, sculpture, design, writing, production and performing in theatre and film. Inspired by the versatility of celebrated multi-disciplinary artists who have impacted the universality of art and culture in present time, Tamsin embraces the simultaneous exploration of divergent art forms as a means of enriching her own creative expression to ferment an overarching body of work. Storytelling is the unifying thread in her disparate artistic practice and her exploration of form, that being made up of layers of line and textures and how these layers are coloured both in a figurative and literal sense. Tamsin’s artistic perspective is in part shaped by her early extensive travels, in the middle East, Europe, Asia Australia and the Americas This has culminated, along with a liberal arts immersion, in the development of a keen exploratory and analytical eye. Tamsin holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with distinction in Painting and Drawing from Concordia University.
