I juxtapose visual elements on one plain unusually flattening the space and adding 2 dimensional imagery. This is an intriguing form of image making for me, much like the layering to be found between the lines in story-telling. I use textured graphite charcoal and pen marks to exude a nuanced atmosphere. Here I predominately work in black and white enjoying the effects of simple line and expressive heavier black markings on demarcated fields.
